In tweets from Banjo Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope and the Mingy Jongo twitter account, an announcement of a Banjo-esque game could be on the way in the next issue of EDGE Magazine. Grant was very clear that what was being announced was not Banjo Kazooie 3, as Rare has full control over that, but something that will make Banjo fans very pleased.

For those who don’t know, Mingy Jongo (besides being the evil robo alter-ego of Mumbo Jumbo) was a group of ex-Rare developers, who gathered together to create a spiritual sequel to the Banjo games. Unfortunately, due to different projects and time constraints, the team seem to disband and work was halted on whatever they were working on. However, a recent cryptic tweet from the Mingy Jongo Twitter account, along with Grant’s own tweets, suggest that the latest issue of EDGE will reveal all about this mysterious project.
