Gearbox Raise $16K For Videogame History Museum

Developer Gearbox have raised $16K for The Videogame History Museum by auctioning off art and collector memorabilia to fans.

The institution aims to create a physical museum in the San Jose Silicon Valley area to preserve the history of games. The non-profit charity hopes to prevent the loss of the mediums history, much like what happened to the film industry after failing to preserve film properly.

If you want you can donate the the project through the official site. You may not find dusty NES cartridges and Amiga’s interesting, but it is all part of an industry that is about to give us the PS4 and Xbox One.

What do you think? Do you support the idea of a videogame museum? Let us know in the comments.
