Game Of Thrones May Be Telltale’s ‘Dream IP’ and Next Project

Telltale Games late last month stated that they have been working on their “Dream IP“. At the time we gave a few of the front-running fan speculations, including Firefly and Transmetropolitan. It seems they were all wrong, with IGN reporting that Telltale is working on a Game of Thrones title.

This is nothing definite, but the site “has learned from multiple sources” that the Californian devs will be creating a game based on the multi-tome spanning series. It is unknown if it will be based on the TV show adaptation, or go straight to the source with George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. Other details yet to be pinned down include whether it will take place during the current timeline, or act as a prequel.

SVP of Publishing at Telltale Games, Steve Allison, replied with “We get these sorts of rumors about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time. Officially we have no comment.” If this news is true, they will be developing this game alongside The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Wolf Among Us. Sounds like a busy road ahead for the critically acclaimed team.

What do you think? If true, could Telltale make the first well received Game of Thrones game? Let us know in the comments.
