Firefly Online Trailer Gives Fans Hope For The Future Of The Franchise

Firefly was a show cut-short long before its time after Fox seemed did it’s best to sabotage the series. With only one short season under its belt before wondering off in the sunset, fans today will finally get some good news.

Firefly Online will be coming out next year. This is a chance for fans to assemble their own crews and make a living as space pirates in Joss Whedon’s much loved show.

Don’t go thinking this is an MMO however, tagging itself as “a multi-user, social online role-playing game” it may be more apt to think more interstellar Facebook game than Eve Online.

It also will not be coming to consoles or PC’s straight away, if at all, stating it will “initially be available for smartphones and tablets, including those based on iOS and Android operating systems.” I think I can hear the fans screaming out in despair.

Spark Plug Games are developing the game and have been responsible for creating Plight of the Zombie and Witches Workshop.

You can sign up for Firefly Online here and make sure to check back for any details released as Comic-Con 2013.
