EA are named the ‘Worst Company in America’ by Consumerist

EA haven’t had much luck lately, and this bad streak has continued with the publisher winning the ‘Worst Company in America’ title for the second year in a row.

The voting in the final round of the Consumerist’s “Worst Company in America” competition has concluded, with EA beating the Bank of America. Nearly 78% of voters chose EA over the Bank. To reach the final round, EA went against giants like Facebook and Ticketmaster (both companies known to have ticked off a portion of their consumer-base).

The Consumerist has been running the Worst Company in America poll since 2006, and according to the Consumerist EA failed at three “core requirements” of running a consumer-friendly company: provide a product that people want and like, sell your product at a reasonable price and support the products you sell. In response, EA commented saying “We can do better. We will do better.”

Here’s hoping things start going well for the publishing giant, especially after recent events with SimCity and the closure of Visceral Montreal.
