Deep Silver prepares for the zombie apocalypse in style

by on February 8, 2013

Deep Silver has today announced its collaboration with custom vehicle fabricators Xquisite to create the ultimate zombie killing machine. This machine will help to promote the next installment of the Dead Island series, Dead Island: Riptide.

The team has taken a completely normal Ford Ranger pickup truck and has transformed it into the ultimate, fully fortied distributor of vehicular manslaughter. Featuring armoured windows, rear mounted mini-gun, lethal spiked wheels and a menacing front end barricade, the truck has been described as “the perfect tool to help push the Dead Island Riptide brand.” Nick Turner, Product Manager at Deep Silver, had this to say in the press release:

“Pickup trucks play a large role in the Dead Island series and we’ve brought this to life by building our own fortified truck.”

The truck build has been documented exclusively for YouTube Original Channel Fast, Furious and Funny, in an episode featuring FFF regular ‘K’ and his team of master craftsmen at Xquisite. The episode has been split into two parts which you can view below.

The truck will be appearing at various promotional events, with Deep Silver giving away exclusive Dead Island: Riptide goodies to people who spot the truck and upload pictures to Twitter using the hashtag #RidtideTour.

Dead Island: Riptide will be making its way onto Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on the 26th April 2013. What do you think of the new zombie killing machine? I could certainly use one just in case. Give us a comment.
