Child of Light Narrative Explored in Final Ubisoft Video

by on April 24, 2014

In their third and final Making Of video for Child of Light, Ubisoft revealed new details on the story of the game, elaborating on both its fairytale nature and the character of Aurora.

The Ubisoft team describe Aurora as a mischievous and naive girl who is yet to really understand the world around her. At first she believes she is in a dream when she awakens in Lemuria, but she soon comes to terms with her new reality. As she goes about her adventures trying to save the kingdom, however, the young princess uncovers Lemuria’s secrets, and decides to take her fate down a different path. On her journey, Aurora will mature into a young woman who is both gracious and strong, like a Valkyrie.

The game is narrated by actress Caroline Dhavernas, who brings a mother’s touch to the storytelling through her warm and gentle tone. The use of text and prose is also integral to the game, as it completes the fairytale feel and adds a new layer of depth to the story.

Child of Light is just under a week away from release, on April 30th. You can pick it up on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and Wii U. For more information, check out the official website, or watch the other Making Of videos on Ubisoft’s youtube channel.
