Dracula may be a character in films and books, but how often is that portrayal one of a strong and powerful being? Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is no different, but instead of making him an arrogant Christopher Lee style character, or taking a suave Jonathan Rhys Meyers approach, MercurySteam is making him a much more tragic individual.

Gabriel’s transformation into Dracula from the first Lords of Shadow was by itself rather devastating, cursed by immortality as he remains separated from the wife he loved. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 turns Dracula into a seeker of death, wanting to end his eternal life. Sounds interesting, aslong as you aren’t immortal in game. It would be boring otherwise.

Castlevania 2: Lords of Shadow is out February 25 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
