Borderlands 2 Future DLC Isn’t A Second Season Of Content

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox Software President, in an interview with Digital Trends has explained the future of Borderlands 2. While many fans thought the deluge of content would end after “Assault on Dragon’s Keep”, Gearbox surprised many with plans to continue development of new content into the foreseeable future.

Pitchford stated in the interview “It’s not fair for me to say there’s another season. There’s not going to be as much new stuff, but the good news is, there’s more stuff and it’s awesome and the value of it will exceed the cost. But I don’t want anyone, later, saying: ‘Why wasn’t there a whole season like there was before?’”. Pitchford later goes on to state however that ““There might turn out to be, but I can only see what we have in motion right now.””

Points to the man for being honest, Pitchford isn’t expecting Gearbox to make anything other than what they are comfortable with. The easy route would have been to ring them dry when they announced more DLC, bringing out enough to hype another season. It has also previously been stated that Gearbox has partially moved onto their next-gen game, which is preferable DLC.

The next DLC pack for Borderlands 2 arrives in Fall, titled T.K Baha’s Blood Harvest on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
