Psyonix is pulling all the right strings to extend the longevity of Rocket League, despite being a very simple concept. First they introduced the Rocket Labs playlist and mutators, then came the Hoops game mode which resembled basketball more than football. Now, they’re introducing a variety of wacky power-ups.

Called Rumble, the playlist will have your standard objective of outscoring the other team but with added ways of gaining the advantage. Some of the power ups being introduced include the Grappling Hook, which pulls you toward the ball, the Freezer which freezes the ball in place until someone hits it again, and the Haymaker which launches a boxing glove that punches the ball ahead of you for that extra reach. There’s eleven power-ups coming overall and you can find the full list in the official blog post.

New Mutators are also joining the game for private matches: Slow, Civilized, Spring Loaded and Destruction Derby. Finer details for what these entail aren’t confirmed yet, but the more content the better! Check out the comedic trailer for Rumble below.
