Sony To Extend PS Plus Subscriptions As an Apology

As everyone has surely heard by now, the PlayStation Network has been down since yesterday. The unknown outage has affected all of Sony’s current platforms and understandably, most PlayStation users are not happy. Never fear though as Sony have taken to Twitter to reassure users that everything will be fine eventually, promising to have things fixed by the 7th.

Sony have also since pledged to extend customers PSN subscriptions, for how long we don’t know, but its a small gesture that’ll be appreciated by many. During the recent outage over the Christmas period, Sony gave users an extra five days service, however with there being continued issues with the network, lets hope that Sony are feeling a little more generous this time around.

It is also claimed that a hacker group known as the Phantom Squad are responsible for the attack. There’s no official proof that they are behind it, but they issued public threats against the PSN before Christmas so it does seem quite likely.
