Nintendo Announces New Mario and Smash Bros Amiibos

In yet more news to make Nintendo fans’ wallets weep, the next line of Smash Bros amiibos, as well as a new Super Mario specific line of toys, are releasing in Spring. The new Super Mario line of amiibos will release on March 20th, featuring new designs of Mario, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi and Luigi, along with a brand new Toad amiibo. All of these Super Mario amiibos will feature a red base, to differetiate them from the black based Smash Bros line.

The new Mario line will all interact with Mario Party 10, unlocking character boards to use in game. The Toad amiibo will also unlock a special hide and seek mode in Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker. You can also use the equivalent Smash Bros amiibo of a character in Mario Party 10 to the same effect.

As for Smash Bros, Ness, Lucina, Charizard, Wario, Pac-Man and Robin will be joining the roster on the 24th of April. Nintendo has also announced that certain figures will be rereleased in the future, to account for the great demand in figures.
