11 Minutes Of Shroud Of The Avatar Footage And Concept Art

While industry legend Richard Garriott, one of the fathers of western RPG’s, is quick to point out that this footage is of a 3 month old game, Shroud of the Avatar: Forsake Virtues is looking very intriguing. While rough around the edge Portalarium still has a long way to go being 1/6 through the planned dev cycle.

With a small glimpse of the world map and more close-up areas it seems like a good mix of old-school ideas with newer design principles. Anyone familiar with his older work on Ultima might be having a serious case of deja-vu right now.

Hopefully Lord British will see fit to release further video updates as time goes by. With so much time to go seeing all the spit and polish being applied would be a good window into the mind of an older game designer. Until then here is some spiffy looking concept art:

Shroud of the Avatar is expected Q4 2014 on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
