Sniper Elite V2 International Edition Now Available In German Territories

Independent UK developer Rebellion is delighted to announce that the International Edition of Sniper Elite V2 is finally available in Germany after German USK gave the title an age rating of 18+.

All owners of Sniper Elite V2 on PC in German territories now have the option to download the International Edition as a free update on Steam.

Originally released in the region in May 2012, German gamers were previously only able to access an edited version of Sniper Elite V2 that removed some of the game’s headlining features including the X-Ray ‘kill camera’ that showed the internal damage done to targets by a sniper bullet.

In addition, DLC for Sniper Elite V2 that was not previously available in Germany has now been rated and released in the territory.

Germany has always had some pretty hardcore rules when it comes to video games content, so it’s no suprise that Sniper Elite V2, a game featuring World War 2, was heavily censored. Does Germany go to far in it’s video game censorship, or are you in favour of less graphic violence in gaming? Let us know in the comments below.
