With the release of Star Trek: The Video game today if you’re lucky enough to live in North America, and this Friday for the rest of us poor saps here in the rest of the world, Paramount Pictures have released an accompanying launch trailer. Promethius trailer-style sound effects, the Gorn and plenty of explosions. What more could a Trekkie ask for?

Introducing an original  Star Trek story that takes place between 2009’s blockbuster hit  Star Trek and the upcoming  Star Trek: Into Darkness.  The game combines the talents of the film’s cast — including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin with an intense co-op campaign where you get to play as either Kirk or Spock.
