Sim City Players Get An Apology from Maxis and a Free Game from EA

Fans of SimCity have had it rough as of late. Because of this, Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager of Maxis Label has posted an update on EA’s website regarding the issues that have been floating around as well as an apology to the fans.

“In the last 48 hours we increased server capacity by 120 percent.  It’s working – the number of people who have gotten in and built cities has improved dramatically.  The number of disrupted experiences has dropped by roughly 80 percent. “

It seems as though things are on the turn-around for SimCity players, but there are still a few who are having issues. To counter this, however, Lucy Bradshaw also mentioned something that EA were giving back to the community for the troubles they have had.

“And to get us back in your good graces, we’re going to offer you a free PC download game from the EA portfolio.  On March 18, SimCity players who have activated their game will receive an email telling them how to redeem their free game.”

So there we have it, a little something to keep the people on-side while EA continue to resolve the on-going server issues. Surely a free EA game will calm everybody does, right? Give us your thoughts on the SimCity server issues and what you make of it with a comment below.
